In Southern Nevada, Spring is almost over. Once the 100 degree temps start coming, most plants will be in survival mode. Anything that is newly planted will have a tough time coping with the heat. If you have plans to plant anything new, now's the last of the time to do it until Fall.
It's also the end of pruning season. Don't prune anything from now until Fall or it will be under a lot of stress and opened up to insect infestation and disease. Here in the Mojave Desert, you could even cause the bark of your trees and shrubs to get sunburned which will make it crack deeply and maybe even fall off. If there are parts of your trees and shrubs trunks and stems that are currently being shaded, keep them that way at least until early next Spring.
